March 25th, 2021 – A 21-year-old man wanted following a stabbing last weekend in Falls Township surrendered to police Wednesday.
Zachary Santana, of Philadelphia, was the “prime suspect” in the incident that left a 17-year-old boy with stab wounds to the abdomen and lower thorax area. Doctors, according to court papers, said the 17-year-old boy in the hospital suffered two punctured lungs, fractured ribs, both forearms broken, and numerous superficial wounds.
After Falls Township took Santana into custody on March 22nd, 2021; Santana was arraigned at 11:30pm by on-call District Justice Jean Seaman of Jamison Township, Upper Bucks, and bail was set in lieu of $100,000 @ 10%. A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for March 30th, 2021 at 1:30pm at District Judge Jan Vislosky of Falls Township.
Editor’s Note: Zachary Santana’s hearing has been re-scheduled for May 19th, 2021 at 9:00 with District Judge Jan Vislosky.
According to court dockets, Assistant District Attorney Mary Kate Kohler filed an entry of appearance which is giving notice to the Common Pleas Court that she is the assigned prosecutor for Santana’s proceedings. We have been unable to reach the arresting officer due to this case being on a temporary black-out due to the seriousness of the charges and fear of the suspect being retaliated against possibly by people outraged by the story.
As of March 25th, LevittownNow.com Staff Writer Tom Sofield had mistakenly told people that he was arraigned on Wednesday the 24th. To be sure that his surrender and other information is accurate, I did a quick check of the PA United Judicial System Court Sheets and it said he was arraigned on March 22nd, 2021 at 11:30pm. Below is an excerpt of the docket sheet:
